The Siller and Gowd Story
Thanks for coming to find out more about Siller and Gowd Jewellery. I'm Angali, S&G's designer, maker, packer and poster - all happening from my little workshop just outside York.
Born and brought up in the North East of Scotland, (hence Siller and Gowd which means Silver and Gold in my local Scottish dialect) the daughter of a carpenter, this is where my creativity was sparked! I loved watching my dad create beautiful things out of wood, fascinated by his tools and in awe of his attention to detail. Whilst all my friends at school took office studies, I took 'craft and design' and loved the designing and making process. There's still a forged candlestick made by 14 year old me lurking somewhere in my parent's house!
Fast forward a 'few' years; a move to Yorkshire, a husband, kids, cats, a fulfilling and happy career as a primary school teacher and many other joyous life fillers, I wanted to get back to making and creating. I love (slow) fashion and I LOVE accessories, always happy to build an outfit around a good statement necklace, fabulous shoes or an amazing bag - so I took up a weekly class in traditional jewellery-making skills and a fire was lit! Fast forward another few years, a diploma in silversmithing and with lots of support from brilliant family and friends, I decided it was time to make my love for creating beautiful, timeless jewellery into more than a hobby, and so Siller and Gowd was born.

Sustainable Siller and Gowd
Siller and Gowd jewellery is handmade and one of a kind, designs which are stylish but led by quality and sustainability. Each piece offers a touch of everyday luxury, too special to be stored away and kept for good, instead to be worn daily to elevate an outfit and mood, and designed to bring joy to the wearer. As well as being beautiful and a pleasure to wear, when you invest in a piece of S&G jewellery, you are investing in a handcrafted piece that has as little environmental impact as possible. Siller and Gowd jewellery is made from top-quality, eco-friendly materials. such as 100% recycled silver and recycled gold. Offcuts from designs are melted down to make new pieces, gemstones are sustainably sourced, and tools and materials are sourced from local UK suppliers wherever possible. As an advocate of slow fashion, Siller and Gowd jewellery reflects this, designed to be worn daily, stand the test of time and passed onto future generations. Environmental impact is considered at everystep, right down to our beautiful S&G packaging - which is recycled and carries the ECO mark.
